This board is made from PINE.
A customer recently provided us with a small quantity of really unique timber called Dade County Black Pine This wood is over 100 years old and reclaimed from a building in Miami. It's heavier than Rock Maple and has a unique, gorgeous grain pattern.
We've never made cutting boards from it before and probably will never have the chance to do it again.
This was made as an End Grain board and has a very cool grain pattern. It's just a little smaller than our normal Butcher 12 x 18 size.
Please note that this board has a strong "pine" scent.

Or do a google search for Pinus Elliotti var. Densa.
We WILL install feet unless you ask us not to by clicking the "remove feet" box.

I have most every size and type of board The Boardsmith makes in maple and walnut. They are all beautiful and endlessly useful. But the special pine board I ordered recently is ABSOLUTELY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL board I've ever had. I've just finished applying it's second mineral oil and board butter treatments, and the board positively glows!!! Until cold weather sets in and I switch to my walnut boards, this one will grace my counter with its beauty and my knives with its care for their blades.
